WRFG Atlanta 89.3 FM -Radio Free Georgia Broadcasting Organization, Inc. provides a voice for those who have been traditionally denied open access to the broadcast media through the involvement of a broad base of community elements to guarantee that access.

In the utilization of the station’s facilities and in its programs the following communities will receive first priority:

1. Those who continue to be denied free and open access to the broadcast media,

2. Those who suffer oppression or exploitation based upon class, race, sex, age, creed, sexual orientation, disability, or immigrant status.

Who We Are

WRFG 89.3 FM is Atlanta’s independent, non-commercial, listener-supported community radio station. Since 1973, we have been  an independent nonprofit station powered by the people and for the people. For more than five decades, WRFG has stood as Atlanta’s home for progressive voices, diverse music, local artists and independent thinkers.

What We Do

Every day, WRFG brings Atlanta and the world an incredible mix of music and conversation you won’t hear anywhere else. From Jazz to Blues, Zydeco to Hip-Hop, Indian to Caribbean, Bluegrass to Latin, and everything in between we celebrate the full rhythm of our city.

We also broadcast community news, grassroots perspectives, and public affairs programs that speak truth to power. Broadcasting at 100,000 watts with a 100-mile reach and streaming globally 24/7, WRFG is more than radio it’s a movement.

WRFG is a true labor of love.  We are powered by over 200 dedicated volunteers and only three paid staff members that keep this station alive and thriving. We are proudly independent, community-driven, and rooted in the belief that everyone deserves to be heard.

For decades, WRFG has been a resource for the underrepresented giving voice to Atlanta’s artists, activists, and everyday people who shape the spirit of this city. Our diversity isn’t a slogan it’s our strength!
