“WE CAN’T HELP EVERYONE, BUT WE CAN HELP SOMEONE.”

The world is simply watching as a disaster unfolds before everyone’s eyes in Syria. To date over 300,000 Syrians have died and over 11 million have been displaced, making Syria the largest single source of refugees in the world, not seen since World War II. Since the fighting started in 2011 the UN High Commissioner for Refugees has recommended 17,000 Syrians for resettlement in the United States. By the end of this month it will have accepted around only 1800!

European countries are slowly opening up their doors for these victims of this civil war. Even our great nation, which traditionally has been the first to lead others to accept and resettle large numbers of those fighting persecution, she has fallen far behind her normal traditions.

OUT OF THE CAMPS AND INTO FREEDOM AND SAFETY

Living in resettlement camps is no living. Safer than the battlefield neighborhoods, but resembling that of an imprisoned enclosure. The problems there are obvious, and when a family is considered a refugee and allowed to migrate is where Project Fresh Starts come in. 

HELPING THE HELPLESS

The refugees, for whatever reason cannot live in their country of origin. Project Fresh Start rescues people whose lives are in danger for being who they are. We protect the most vunerable refugees, helping them build new lives and reuniting them with their familes in safety and freedom. We stand for the protection of refugees and strive for all displaced people being treated with the dignity they deserve.

ACROSS ALL BORDERS

We welcome and respect the experience, identity and beliefs of all people. Our welcoming attitude starts at our doorstep and extends to these refugees across the globe. Every human being, who faces oppression of this magnitude, from a denial of basic rights streaching from free speech to freedom of religion, deserves a greater opportunity.  Project Fresh Start's mission is to help these refugees, today, when they need it most, and the rest of the world is watching with one eye open.

PURPOSE OF DOING

Our approach to tackling the issues refugees have in resettling is one of collaboration and teamwork. We work with all groups and agencies that support respect towards all cultures and we recognize the common human values that tie us all together.
