By providing skills training and access to employer networks to individuals often underrepresented from tech careers, notably people of color and women, Per Scholas envisions a workforce as diverse as the customers it serves

Organizational Overview 

Per Scholas have been advancing economic mobility and racial equity through rigorous training, professional development, and robust employer connections that enable individuals from all backgrounds to launch high-growth careers in technology. Our work is informed through 29 years of collaborating with industry-leading employers to build more diverse talent pools. Our tuition-free training positions graduates for employment in thriving-wage jobs that offer competitive compensation and benefits packages, inclusive work environments, and work-life balance key to supporting long-term career growth. We have a proven model - evaluated in two multi-year research-controlled trials (MDRC WorkAdvance study) - demonstrating substantial increases in gainful employment through specialized IT training and support services which help learners launch and advance successful careers.

Collectively, Per Scholas has ensured more than 25,000 diverse individuals (earning less than 80% AMI) have had the opportunity to launch careers in technology at no cost to them. Of those trained, more than 1,200 individuals have been through our Atlanta campus since launching our downtown campus in 2016.

We rely on individual donations, grants, and sponsorships to continue to offer our program to learners at no cost to them. Per Scholas also has a robust alumni program supporting alumni well after they have graduated with mentorship, upskilling opportunities, alumni activities, and more.
