Pawsitive Supporters Inc

PAWSitive Supporters Inc. is a 501c3 non-profit founded in 2014 to help animals in Cobb County, GA.  Organized in the Spring of 2014, PSI started with 2 fund raising projects and then turned our focus in 2015 to providing low-cost/no-cost spay/neuters to low income areas of Cobb County.   Area shelters and rescues are bursting at the seams with dogs and cats waiting to be adopted.  2021 has been particularly stressful as litter after litter of puppies and kittens continue to come into the shelters and rescues daily. Because of the affects of the pandemic on communities, the scarcity of low-cost s/n programs, and the lack of education on the importance of s/n, this littering continues!  WE CANNOT ADOPT OUR WAY OUT OF THIS PROBLEM.  

Our program goes out to mobile home communities and local food banks where people live or come looking for help for themselves.  They have family pets that are in need.  The program provides a spay or neuter, microchip,  rabies vaccine, distemper for cats-parvo vaccine for dogs, deworming, and nail trims.  Many times this is the first vet visit for these pets.  We also to educate pet owners on what it means to be a responsible pet owner, and to pass out food as donated to us.   In 2020, we helped alter 133 pets thanks to our partnership with Lifeline Animal Project and despite losing almost 3 months due to Lifeline being closed.  To date in 2021, we have fixed 205 bringing us over 1800 since starting this journey.  And our goal this year was to provide a heartworm test to every dog.  We have had 6 dogs reported HW positive and have helped the owners find reasonable places for treatment.

With the country trying to come out of the pandemic, our "free" program became a 50/50 shared   except in cases of extreme need.  Our hope is to try to continue operating on a shared 50/50 plan- owners paying half/ our program paying half.  $2,,500 will allow us to do 100 pets on a 50/50 basis.  We  have received a private donation of $2,500 that was given to provide a matching grant on GAgives Day.  We ask for your donation and ask you share our story on Facebook or other social media you may be on.
