Out on Film Inc

Out On Film, Atlanta's LGBTQIA+ film festival,  is one of the oldest and largest LGBTQ film festivals in the United States.  We were voted as the number one film festival in the country earlier this year by the readers of USA Today/ 10 Beste We are also one of only three Oscar® qualifying film festival in Atlanta and one of only a handful of Oscar® qualifying LGBTQ festivals in the world. Out On Film showcases the best in LGBTQ cinema from around the world and our own backyard at an 11 day film festival in fall as well as at events throughout the year via collaborations with other organizations.  We also offer a safe haven for members of the LGBTQ community and our allies to experience these works together.

This year's fall festival took place  Sept 21 - Oct 1 and featured more than 150 films and dozens of filmmaker Q and As, both in person and virtual. D Among the films that we screened in person this year were "Our Son," starring Billy Porter and Luke Evans as a gay couple in a custody battle over their young son, the award-winning romance "Lie With Me," and the comedic "Cora Bora," with Megan Stalter and Margaret Cho. 

We also offered a spring film festival with the Georgia premiere of the amazing documentaries "Little Richard: I Am Eveything" and "Kokomo Coty." In August, we hosted a screening of the acclaimed and popular "Bottoms." 

We offer a screenplay competition every year  and offer cash awards  for Best Short Film screenplay and for Best Feature Film screenplay. 

New in 2024, we will be offering our first Filmmaker Fund to help filmmakers put the finishing touches on their work.
