Our Time 21st Century Seniors, Inc.

Our Time 21st Century Seniors, Inc., (OT), a 501(c)(3) corporation was conceived in October 2014 by Ginny Albert and Michael Wyatt.  The idea that created the organization came from observations that the population that has raised families, earned the reputation for having the best customer services capabilities, and the most superior work ethic -- was now the least served.  Inasmuch as many seniors 50+ seldom plan for retirement, we knew that we could provide the insights, motivation, and resources so that seniors begin to see retirement not as a means to an end, but as a new chapter in life that gives them the freedom to do the things they always wanted to do, or to discover things they never even considered doing.

As such, we have created a series of workshops that will allow them to explore the numerous options open to them, now that their children have flown the nest.  Instead of bemoaning the loss of employment and visits by family members, we seek to open the eyes of seniors to the realization that their lives are now their own.  The workshops occupy them to such an extent that visits from loved ones are happy additions to their busy schedules, instead of the only thing to which they look forward.  

Our workshops in Computer and Smartphone Instruction; brain stimulation exercises; ink art; memoir writing, etc., travel; healthy eating/healthy cooking; medicine management; foot assessment/pedicures, provide seniors with a sense of purpose and the self-esteem that can only come from within.  Of course, there are all manner of senior centers throughout Atlanta, but what distinguishes OT from other service providers is that we take our services to senior residences, and they are very appreciative, as many do not or cannot drive.

In 2018 The 7th Annual Trinity Awards Committee chose Our Time 21st Century Seniors, Inc., as the Charity Award recipient for the work the organization has done to create positive mind/body/spirit stability within the senior community.
