About US...

Nsoromma School, Inc. is a non-profit educational institution. Founded in 1992 by six dedicated education professionals, Nsoromma has been serving children, teens, families, and educators in the metro Atlanta area for over 30 years. We currently offer part-time enrichment courses and workshops. These include our signature "Triple Threat" ACT and SAT test prep, as well as other college prep programs for teens and parents; STEAM-related enrichment programs; and "Teachers Transforming" professional development workshops and courses for educators, administrators, and homeschooling parents. We serve the metropolitan Atlanta area, and we also offer virtual and hybrid courses that allow students and families across the country to participate.  

Nsoromma, the star...

...is one of the adinkra symbols from Ghana in West Africa. It is translated as "children of the sky" or "children of God." At Nsoromma, we know that our students are stars with the potential to illuminate the universe as they develop their unique talents and gifts.

ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE

At Nsoromma School, we use traditional and innovative teaching methods to create a stimulating and nurturing environment where teens and children can blossom and shine. We have high expectations, and we challenge students to achieve at their highest level.   We build on what students bring and help them identify and use their strengths as they handle their challenges and move forward. Academic excellence is a realistic and necessary expectation for our students.

CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT

We encourage cooperation, demonstrate respect for self and others, and stimulate a thirst for knowledge and understanding. We believe that all things in the universe are interconnected and interdependent and that what we do affects not only us individually but also those around us. We desire to build character and cultivate values that support and celebrate life.

CULTURAL AWARENESS

From the temples of ancient Kemet and the universities of West Africa to the private reading lessons during the period of enslavement in the Americas and the free schools of the Reconstruction period, academic excellence has been a part of African and African American culture. Therefore, we utilize the strengths of our cultural ways of learning to facilitate academic excellence. In addition, we believe students should know and appreciate their own culture as a basis for exploring and understanding others.

The impact of giving to Nsoromma 

In this giving season, Nsoromma is asking you to invest in our youth and teens - their futures. It's more important than ever for us to be in control of our children's education. As the state and country are taking away opportunities for them to get a complete and truthful understanding of their history and heritage, we must be proactive and intentional to ensure that they receive that – from us.

With your contribution, we (Nsoromma and you) can give our youth and teens:

~ expanded Triple Threat SAT/ACT Test Prep courses and offer more college workshops, including HBCU pathways, for teens and parents;

~ entrepreneurship and social entrepreneurship experiences;

~ STEAM programming with a focus on solving local and global problems that affect people of African descent throughout the diaspora;

~ a cultural heritage and history program for our teens through a partnership with a national Black educational organization;

~ much more.
