Lights Back On Incorporated is a 501(c)(3) organization that provides energy bill assistance to low-income families, individuals, and those affected by the COVID pandemic residing in Gwinnett, DeKalb, Fulton, and Cobb counties within the state of Georgia.

2013 was a very traumatic, but an eye-opening experience for us. We had just had our first child in May and brought her home in June. That following October, a winter storm hit Georgia where there was heavy snowfall, frozen rain, chilling winds, ice on the ground, and temperatures below zero. We could not afford the electric bill so we all cuddled up in the bedroom with blankets and our one heater to stay warm. If one of us had to use the restroom, cook on the hotplate, or want to watch television, I would turn the heater in that direction to keep that area warm until we were ready to go back to the bedroom. There was no hot water, so we had to use the hot plate to heat up the water to bathe ourselves. This went on for a year or so until God blessed us and we were able to get the help we needed to pay for electricity and be able to live a normal life.

Lights Back On exist to help in the fight to end poverty by providing energy bill payment assistance to families and individuals unable to afford their electricity bills. We are an official hub of the Georgia Power Energy Assistance Program and want to help prevent these events from happening to others or prevent shutoffs in the homes of struggling families. Lights Back On is a resource to do good in our communities and beyond, but we can only accomplish this with your help.
