A child running through foam at KidStuff-USA Family Fun Day

Help us build the spinner at Gum Springs.

Picture a Saturday at Gum Springs Park in Jefferson.

A little girl rolls her wheelchair straight onto the spinner. Her brother hops on beside her. They spin until they're dizzy and laughing, eye to eye.

Their mom sits on a bench nearby. For once she isn't scanning for the exit or figuring out what her daughter can't do here. She's just watching her kids play.

That afternoon doesn't exist yet. You can help build it.

Why Gum Springs

Right now, the playground at Gum Springs doesn't work for every child. Kids who use wheelchairs, kids with sensory sensitivities, and kids who need extra support end up on the sidelines. Or their families drive out of the county looking for a place that works.

We're changing that. With Jackson County Parks and Recreation, we're adding inclusive equipment to the park that's already there. We start with the child facing the most restrictions and build outward until there's room for everyone.

What your gift builds this GAgives

The plan for Gum Springs. A child can roll right onto the spinner.

This GAgives, we're raising $21,086 for the spinner. A child can roll right onto it, and their friends and siblings can ride along. It's one piece of a $450,000 inclusive playground, and it's the piece that gets kids spinning together.

  • $30 puts down one square foot of soft ground, so every child can reach the spinner.
  • $300 lays ten square feet. A path to the swings.
  • $500 makes you a Kite Tail Bow, with your name on the park's recognition wall.
  • $1,616 builds a bench. The one where a parent finally sits down and breathes.
  • $3,621 hangs the swing seats, including two built for kids who need extra support.

Who we are

It started with a man who noticed the basketball goals in his community had no nets. Lamar Holley didn't wait for someone else to fix it. He bought them himself.

For 20 years, Lamar and Jean Holley built KidStuff-USA with their own hands, and hundreds of families have been part of it. In 2025, they passed it to us.

Today, we build inclusive playgrounds and community events for families living with different abilities. We start with the child facing the greatest restrictions. When we get it right for that child, every family gets a day that just works.

Gum Springs is how we make it permanent.
