Our story begins with our first Royal Family KIDS Camp in 2008 with 28 kids in attendance. After meeting these kids and seeing the statistics that show them as being overrepresented in the prison, unemployed and homeless population, we knew we had to do more. In 2010, Doug and Tasha Whitener founded Kids Cubed (now Waymark). Our mission was to give hope to kids in foster care and equip them with the skills and support necessary for success. Since then, we have developed programming as we felt led that address the unique issues that youth in foster care face. We have seen countless youth realize that there is hope for bright future and receive the support and skills they need to pursue God’s plan for their life. We have expanded to 4 different programs which serve over 650 youth a year through over 400 incredible volunteers who put in over 28,000 volunteer hours. In 2018, we felt the need to rebrand in order to communicate our heart more effectively as well as the age of the population we serve. No longer do we just serve kids, we serve young adults as well. We believe the name Waymark truly reflects our desire to give youth in foster care the guidance and direction they need as well as the critical support necessary on their journey to adulthood.
