Intown Cares is the nonprofit that goes the extra mile to help Intown Atlantans meet their most essential human needs – food and housing. We specialize in serving neighbors who have the hardest time getting housing transition to their own homes. And we provide easy access to food for any who need it.

  1. Housing First is our model for helping people transition from a long period of living outdoors to moving into their own homes. This model places permanent shelter at the start of the journey to a new life – not a culmination of meeting other criteria.
  2. Similarly, we provide food for the next several meals to those who need it, without conditions or requirements – because hunger should not be an obstacle to other steps that lead to better days.

Persistence drives us. The people we employ, the process we follow, and the perspective we share are all guided by a single, unifying idea: solving hunger and homelessness requires imagination, flexibility, and a willingness to take the extra step.

As the affordable housing crisis worsens in our area, more and more neighbors are vulnerable. Homelessness is increasing, and so are rates of food insecurity. In fact, in Georgia, 1 in 8 people are food insecure.

This GAgives on GivingTuesday, your donation will help fund Intown Cares’ programs to support neighbors experiencing homelessness and hunger. You can make a difference. We're asking for your support to meet our goal of raising $100,000. Beginning November 24th, 2025, every additional dollar raised will be matched by a generous anonymous donor! Will you help?
