International Rescue Committee Atlanta

A nonprofit organization

Who we are:

We are a locally-funded, community-based chapter of the International Rescue Committee (IRC) and a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Our office has been in the Atlanta community for 43 years!

The IRC in Atlanta's staff of over 100 professionals represent more than 20 countries and speak over 30 languages. Our team includes social workers, educators, business coaches, health specialists and legal experts—many of whom are former refugees.

What we do:

Since opening in 1979, the IRC in Atlanta has welcomed more than 28,000 refugees from over 65 countries to resettle in communities across the state.

A committed local staff of professionals work together with volunteers to assist families in reuniting and rebuilding their lives in the greater Atlanta area.

We offer programs including resettlement and case management services, adult education classes, youth programs covering ages 5 to 24, employment assistance, asset building resources, community health response programs, and immigration services, all of which serve over 4,000 clients each year.

No matter if the crisis is new or ongoing, or happening in Eastern Europe, Central Africa, or Latin America, together we show up—as our humanitarian calling demands—to respond, serve and support the most vulnerable among us.

How You Can Help:

We are currently looking for friends of the IRC—both old and new—to join our team of fundraising volunteers and set up their own Peer-2-Peer fundraising pages here on MightyCause. YOU can help us to ensure that newly arriving refugee families from Afghanistan, Syria, Myanmar, and other crisis zones around the world have the support they need to integrate and thrive in our communities. Find everything you need to get started in our Fundraising Toolkit.

Across our array of holistic programs and services, you make this work possible. Donate at Rescue.org/GiveAtlanta or contact Atlanta@rescue.org to connect with us.
