Initiative restores hope for homeless and low-income families in the Metro Atlanta area with immediate housing, employment, financial assistance, and comprehensive social services to address the root causes of homelessness and poverty. Initiative also operates re:loom--weaving a better life (http://reloom.org), which provides low-barrier employment, job training, and employment counseling to help families achieve independence. Finally, Initiative provides over 350 units of safe, permanent affordable housing in DeKalb County and the City of Atlanta. Through these three programs, Initiative serves over 650 low-income residents each year.
Initiative is providing desperately needed financial assistance, social services, and mental health support for local families hardest hit by the economic effects of the COVID pandemic. By ensuring that local families have food, shelter, clothing, childcare, transportation, and access to employment through re:loom, Initiative is helping our most vulnerable neighbors weather this crisis.
