Historic Atlanta helps communities save and thoughtfully reuse Atlanta’s
historically significant places through advocacy, education, and technical assistance.

Historic Atlanta is dedicated to supporting and advocating for the thoughtful reuse of Atlanta’s historic resources. 

We are a volunteer-run organization with a deep well of technical expertise in conservation, real estate, finance, law, federal and state compliance, public history, and documentation. Our board and committee members work in public federal, state, and local capacities as well as in private business and non-profits. We believe that there is no more well-equipped group to support the efforts of communities advocating for the preservation of those places that are part of our history.

Our supporters are preservation professionals and passionate lay-people united in the belief that for Atlanta to become a truly world-class city, we need to respect our history, not destroy it.
