The Temple

The Temple, originally founded as the Hebrew Benevolent Congregation in 1867, was Atlanta’s first official Jewish institution.  

The Temple is a diverse and inclusive religious organization that promotes unity within the Jewish community. We believe everyone should have a place to call home; Whether you’re new to Atlanta, identify as interfaith, LGBT, have children with physical or learning needs, and those of all ages and backgrounds. The Temple’s mission is to encourage lifelong learning, provide a dynamic blend of worship opportunities and continue our decades-long initiative of social justice, advocacy and volunteerism.
