Did you know that Georgia is experiencing a maternal and infant health crisis? Of all states, Georgia ranks 45th for prematurity, 44th for infant mortality, and 48th for maternal mortality. 

HMHBGA was founded almost 50 years ago to serve as a trusted partner in advocating with and providing expanded resources for Georgia’s birthing population and their sweet babies. We work with stakeholders from all sectors of the community to ensure that the immediate needs for education, resources and programming support are cultural relevant and accessible during the prenatal and postpartum period. We also focus on systems change, advocating for policies and identifying workforce solutions to ensure that moms, birthing peoples and babies are positioned for healthy and happy lives for years to come.

With labor and delivery units continuing to close across the state, we MUST continue to serve as a critical ally to families and we need your help.

Please consider donating to our cause. Your gift will support Georgia's families:

• $25 - Provides one hour of tailed support for a mom or family in need with one of our Information & Referral specialists.
• $50 – Provides much needed supplies such as baby diapers, prenatal vitamins, onesies, belly bands and more to families in need.
• $100 – Provides a birthing person with a multi-session peer support program designed to help them with their mental health and social emotional needs prenatal and postpartum.
• $250 - Covers the cost for ten people to participate in our online prenatal education course.
• $500 - Covering the training costs for maternal and child health professionals in a host of critical domains such as health equity, responsive and respectful care, etc.
• $1,000 - Increases the number of perinatal support professionals across Georgia by sponsoring one person to be trained in our BPSP program where they can become a doula, maternal mental health specialist, lactation consultant, or childbirth educator.
