Meet Faith Igunbor, founder of Have Faith Foundation (HFF), Inc. Faith is a breast cancer survivor and a passionate advocate for individuals and families facing cancer. She founded HFF in 2018 during her own battle with breast cancer, driven by her faith in God and the alarming rise of cancer diagnoses among women and men. Her experience and the support she received from loved ones and charitable organizations inspired her to create a platform that gives back to others walking the same path.

About Faith Igunbor

Faith embodies the true spirit of service and compassion. A professional social worker, she is also an active youth and women’s leader in her local church and a dedicated volunteer with several nonprofit organizations across Georgia. Through HFF, Faith channels her personal journey into purpose—helping families navigate the emotional, physical, and financial challenges of cancer treatment with dignity and hope.

Faith’s Journey

At 39, Faith was a wife and mother of four boys, living a healthy, active lifestyle. She exercised regularly, ate well, and even led a fitness and nutrition awareness group encouraging others to take charge of their health. Breast cancer was the last thing she expected.

One day, after a shower, she discovered a small lump on her right breast and lymph node. On the day of her mammogram, she prayed with her husband and went in with unwavering faith. After a series of tests, the doctor delivered the devastating words: “It does not look good.” Tears flowed as she and her husband faced the reality of what lay ahead.

On December 1st, the diagnosis was confirmed—invasive breast cancer. That morning, her devotional reading from Exodus 14:14 spoke directly to her heart: “The LORD himself will fight for you. Just stay calm.” Faith knew then that God was with her through the battle.

The Battle and the Blessings

The days that followed were filled with disbelief, fear, and faith. Like many, Faith once believed that being young, healthy, and without a family history meant she was safe from cancer. Her diagnosis shattered that assumption but deepened her trust in God. Surrounded by family, she spent Thanksgiving week in prayer and praise, asking to feel God’s love throughout her journey.

Faith and her husband prayed over every decision—from treatment plans to medical teams—and trusted God to perfect every detail. She underwent multiple rounds of chemotherapy, surgery, and radiation, eventually being declared cancer-free.

The journey was grueling. Simple tasks like walking, cooking, or climbing stairs became exhausting. She endured fainting episodes, blood transfusions, and additional surgeries. Yet, through every challenge, she was uplifted by her family’s care and the outpouring of love from friends, church members, and even strangers. Meals, cleaning supplies, scarves, clothes, prayers, and words of encouragement poured in—each act of kindness easing her burden and strengthening her resolve.

The Mission of Have Faith Foundation (HFF)

Faith’s experience birthed the mission of Have Faith Foundation—to stand beside families facing breast and prostate cancer with financial assistance, emotional support, prayer, and compassionate care. HFF seeks to be the friend every family needs during their fight.

Cancer places an enormous emotional and financial strain on families, and for many in minority communities, these challenges are magnified by socioeconomic barriers and limited access to resources. Minorities continue to face the highest cancer death rates and shortest survival times in the United States.

Through your contributions and donations, HFF aims to ease the burden for fifty families currently undergoing breast and prostate cancer treatment—helping them focus on healing, faith, and hope.
