Great Prospects Inc

Great Prospects was established in September 2005 by parents of children with developmental disabilities to address the increasing need for meaningful options in the areas of post-secondary and summer programming. Great Prospects mission is to provide meaningful connections for individuals with developmental disabilities through continued educational enrichment, social interaction, community outreach and healthy living skills. Participants learn and continue to reinforce fundamental vocational, community and self-advocacy skills; they learn healthy living skills including shopping and preparing healthy meals and snacks, they attend music and art therapy for continued stimulation of their minds and even volunteer in the community. They develop confidence, a sense of self-worth and the feeling of belonging to something beyond just their immediate families. Funding for Great Prospects comes from a combination of participant fees, fundraising events, individual and corporate donations as well as foundation grants.
