Good Mews Animal Foundation Inc

Thank you for supporting Good Mews!

About Us
Good Mews is metro Atlanta's premier cat shelter—an alternative to traditional animal shelters. We are a cage-free, no-kill shelter, the first in metro-Atlanta! For nearly 40 years, Good Mews has been a safe haven for homeless, abused, and abandoned cats to roam freely, receive world-class care, and find loving homes.

Because we receive little-to-no government support, Good Mews relies solely on donations from generous supporters like you to continue our life-saving work.

Our Shelter
Good Mews is home to approximately 100 residents at any given time, with another 30 to 40 cats in foster care. And we have an average adoption rate of over 600 cats per year.

Our 5,500 square-foot facility was designed with the cats in minds. Large windows allow the cats to receive natural sunlight and enrichment from watching outdoor critters who feed from bird feeders and live in our certified wildlife habitat. Calming music plays throughout the day in the shelter, and even our walls were painted in colors that are intended to provide comfort to cats.

Our Work
Good Mews' impact reaches much farther than only being a cat shelter. Our mission is to help as many cats, animals, and people as we can, in as many ways as we can. We provide our community with ongoing programs including:
∙ Low-cost spay / neuter clinic
∙ TNVR services for community cats
∙ Pet food pantries to keep pets in loving homes
∙ Community events
∙ And much more through the year!

Our Mission in Action
Our mission goes beyond the walls of our shelter. Every year, we pull hundreds of cats from county shelters across Georgia, helping to relieve shelter overcrowding and offering a lifeline to cats when shelters are nearing capacity.

And when animals need help beyond our own community, we step up. Earlier this year, as Hurricane Isaias approached, a shelter in Mobile, Alabama, needed to evacuate. We were able to take in nine of their cats at the last minute, giving them a safe haven when they needed it most.

With your support, we can continue to be there for animals in need, wherever and whenever we can.
