Global Health Action is creating healthier communities around the globe through education and training in leadership, management and health promotion.

Programs

Global Health Action (GHA) has a proven history of designing and conducting community-based health training, leadership and management programs. GHA serves the health needs of individuals, communities and countries through five programmatic initiatives: Leadership and Management Training, HIV/AIDS, Women's Health and Reproductive Health, Primary Health Care and Second Generation Organizations. GHA is known and recognized for its ability to design and deliver practical, customized training programs. Trainers emphasize active student participation through small group sessions, role-plays, classroom discussions, coaching sessions and tailored site visits. Each participant completes a GHA course or workshop with a concrete action plan that addresses a pressing health-related problem in his or her country. Participants learn skills and practice techniques that encourage and equip them to make positive changes in the way they view themselves and in the ways they interact with colleagues and with the people and communities they serve. GHA's principle areas of training are leadership, management and project planning for health professionals and community leaders. Two courses in leadership and management take place each year at GHA's headquarters in Atlanta, GA. Customized in-country and Atlanta-based programs can be designed upon request. At this time, GHA has custom-designed training courses on HIV/AIDS prevention in Africa and Asia and women's reproductive health in China.
