Both within our walls and in the community, Children's Museum of Atlanta delivers exceptional educational experiences that aim to inspire a love of learning in young children. The Museum is a space where exploration of the child’s interests is experienced alongside educational programs and activities that help to prepare children for school and life. We are the only organization in Atlanta that does this work – the important work of child development through play-based learning.

Since our founding in 1988, the core of Children’s Museum of Atlanta's work has been based on the belief that every child from every community matters and deserves the same opportunities to succeed in school and life. While providing engaging and hands-on exhibits and programming is the core of our work, we are deeply committed to reducing barriers to access so all families can experience the power of play.

When you make a donation to Children’s Museum of Atlanta, you help us maintain high-quality, play-based learning experiences AND extend our reach within Atlanta through access programs including:

  • Outreach programming: through several programs, including our flagship place-based Connected Learning, Connected Communities program, the Museum is committed to extending the reach of educational, play-based learning for children beyond our walls. In our most recent fiscal year, we served over 12,000 kids and caregivers with outreach programs in schools, libraries, shelters, and partner organizations across metro Atlanta
  • Family Free Days: Four times a year, CMA opens its doors free of charge to families served by our partner outreach programs
  • Access It!: Provides subsidized admission to the Museum to help ensure access for children attending primarily Tile 1 schools
  • Museums for All: An initiative of the federal Institute of Museum and Library Services, Museums for All is a program through which museums provide free or reduced admission to those receiving food assistance; CMA offers $3 admission for SNAP benefit recipients
  • Sensory Friendly Playtime: Provides a sensory-modified experience on select Sundays throughout the year. CMA adjusts the museum experience, including sound and lighting levels, so that guests with sensory processing needs feel more comfortable and welcomed

We know children learn best through play and that early childhood experiences are instrumental in building a strong foundation for future learning and behavior. This is why our work is vital. We exist to support children, caregivers and educators in their life-long learning journey. With your donations, we can provide a brighter future for more children.
