Founded in 1967, the Georgia Conservancy is a statewide, donor-supported conservation organization. Our work for land conservation, environmental advocacy, coastal protection, sustainable growth, and outdoor stewardship recognizes the connection between the environment, the economy, and our quality of life.

Our Vision: A Georgia where all people and the environment thrive.

Our Mission: At Georgia Conservancy, our mission is simple: healthy lands, thriving communities, and a future where every Georgian can enjoy the outdoors for generations to come.

Our History: Founded in 1967, the Georgia Conservancy has a rich history of working with private citizens, businesses, government, and academia to protect and conserve the state's natural resources. Our work focuses on healthy natural systems, thriving communities, and engaged Georgians.

Our goals are to:

  • Protect and restore Georgia's natural systems for a sustainable future;
  • Position Georgia's communities to be more resilient to ecological, demographic and economic stresses;
  • Create stewards and foster appreciation by connecting all Georgians to our natural resources
