Your gift to Food Well Alliance ensures more people have access to fresh, healthy food. Thanks to a matching gift by the Food Well Board, every dollar you donate - up to $25,000 - is DOUBLED to support local growers. In honor of our 10th anniversary, would you consider a monthly gift of $10 (or any amount)? With our board match, a gift of just $10 a month adds up to $240 in one year!
Help sustain more than 300 farms, gardens, and orchards!
Many growing spaces help fill a void where access to fresh, healthy food is limited. At Faithful Fields Community Garden, a ministry of Words of Faith AME Church in Mableton, fresh produce is distributed through the church’s food bank. Garden founder Antrica Feaster (above) says Food Well plays a key role in their ability to continue nourishing neighbors and stresses the importance of your donations. “If we can see more people giving, then that will encourage more people to give..."
Jasmine Herndon (above), owner of Healing Hipster farm, regularly teaches classes and offers $25 Food Bundles for her community. “I’m trying to bring people to eat fresh produce. I want to make it affordable,” said Jasmine. With support from Food Well, Jasmine purchased chickens to add eggs to her bundles, funded a well to water her plants, and bought fruit trees. “I really think that everyone should continue to give because it really impacts a small local farmer."
Flowers are essential for pollinators who make it possible for healthy food to grow, but they're also a staple at farmers markets where Claire Reynolds (above) of Love Joy Farm can be found selling her signature bouquets. Support from Food Well has funded the installation of a walk-in cooler for flower storage and a variety of other improvements. "From the free compost, to the plowing and tilling to the cooler grant, it has all moved my business forward and made me a much better farmer," said Claire.
What your dollars - DOUBLED - can do:$25 provides 2 trays of seedlings to gardens and farms.
$50 purchases 4 fruit trees for an orchard.
$100 ensures 2 days of training for agriculture student interns.
$200 delivers a truck load of compost to a community garden.
$500 completes a tractor workday at a local farm.
$1,500 funds improvement projects at 2 community gardens.
THANK YOU for supporting local growers. Together, we can realize our vision of an Atlanta that is locally grown and community connected!
