Extra Special People Inc

Extra Special People Inc (or esp as we like to call it) exists to create transformative experiences for people with disabilities and their families, changing communities for the better. We envision a world where every person, of every ablity, in every community has universal access to transformative experiences

esp began in Watkinsville, Georgia in 1986 as a one week of summer camp for 21 participants. Since that humble beginning, we have grown to serve over 1,200 participants and their families from 65 counties in Georgia. We now have esp communities in Athens, Atlanta, Rome and Savannah who provide year-round programming, summer camp and connection for the families we support.

At esp, we are commited to never turning anyone away due to their disability, age OR their ability to pay. We serve participants with a range of disabilities including Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, Autism, Seizure disorders, Spina Bifida, Traumatic Brain Injury and more. We have participants ranging from newborn to senior citizen. Most importantly, we ensure all of our participants receive a minimum of a 75% scholarship for all of our programming. This is all possible due to the support of our donors and network of more than 2,000 volunteers.
