Our founder's Inspiring Journey 🇪‍🇹👉🇺‍🇲

We are a grassroots non-profit organization committed to facilitating a seamless transition for newcomers to the United States. Our dedicated team of passionate volunteers, who have experienced similar immigration challenges, stand ready to assist individuals from diverse corners of the globe.

My journey began in my home Addis Ababa, Ethiopia; a place of great history but touched poverty and hardship as well. I never had the privilege of knowing my father but I was fortunate to have an incredibly hard working mother who did everything in her power to provide a better life for me and my three sisters.

When I turned 18, my mother made the incredible sacrifice of sending me to the United States in pursuit of a better education. Arriving in the U.S. as an undocumented immigrant led to discrimination, lack of labor opportunities, and safety protections. This made it easy for employers to exploit my situation, leaving me struggling to make ends meet.

I managed to scrape together enough funds to hire an immigration lawyer who helped me navigate the complex paperwork. Salvation came through networking at my church where I learned about invaluable resources like free English classes and subsidies to alleviate some of my financial burdens.

At the age of 23, I attained my citizenship and began my education at Georgia Piedmont College where I embraced a life of entrepreneurship. I felt deeply blessed by the opportunities the US offered to me. However, knowing that the people in my homeland couldn't access the same opportunities ignited a desire to do more.

As I continued volunteering for various churches, I observed many enduring the same struggles I faced upon my arrival in the United States.

With a dream, a plan, and two dedicated daughters of mine; the E.D.A.O was born. Since 2019, Our nonprofit has raised over $7,000 providing housing for disabled citizens and supplying essential medical equipment.

We also accept donations of wheelchairs, canes, adult diapers, and any other medical or convalescent equipment. Your generous donation, no matter the amount, can make a significant impact. We also welcome your gracious time as a volunteer.

Your support will help us continue making a positive change in the lives of those in need.
