EBN Sarai’s Closet is dedicated to offering temporary assistance to middle-class families during times of financial uncertainties. We aim to achieve our goals by offering immediate avenues of aid in the form of utility and bill assistance (Paying it Forward (PIF), food/ grocery assistance (Our Daily Plate), educational awareness (Education is Key), self-care awareness (Mind, Body & Spirit), medical assistance awareness (Aid for a Healthier Tomorrow), and the importance of investing in partnering nonprofits (Investing in Tomorrow). We believe that by offering these programs, we can provide that source of security that allows families to concentrate on accessing and addressing their current situation with peace-of-mind knowing that their short-term financial difficulty will not jeopardize the American dream that they have worked to acquired.

 Our primary goal is to satisfy an immediate need, offer hope and help stabilize one family at a time. How would the trajectory of our communities change if aid was readily available to middle-class Georgians in need? EBN Sarai’s Closet is here to change the trajectory. Paying it Forward (PIF) will assist families that are unable to fund monthly public utility bills, weekly transportation costs or weekly childcare obligations. Preventing them from living without essential public utilities, eliminating work absenteeism due to transportation costs or unpaid childcare expenses.  Our Daily Plate is designed to assist families whose weekly budget doesn’t allow them to purchase food to support their nutritional needs. Food vouchers and pantry services are excellent tools that will ensure that their nutritional needs are met. Education is Key grants participants within the program access to seminars that educate them on (1) financial literacy (2) home ownership; (3) job training; and (4) entrepreneurship.  Each designed to address hurdles affecting middle-class financial stability. Mind, Body & Spirit highlights the importance of overall health and wellbeing. These seminars and non-profit partnerships will address difficult issues: depression, bullying, mental health, grief and violence that are plaguing our communities; and Spiritual empowerment: inspirational messages, Christian prayer, bible study & counseling, ministerial services, healthy eating and fitness. Aid for a Healthier Tomorrow is designed to promote medical assistance awareness within the middle-class community by providing resources designed to embrace pertinent health issues, inform of free or reasonable screenings or services, and other financial aid availability not covered by insurance. Investing in Tomorrow stresses the importance of reinvesting in the community by supporting local schools, churches, businesses and nonprofits which builds stronger communities. Our goal at EBN Sarai’s Closet is to be a center of support that helps stabilize one family at a time by assisting with maintaining their quality of life and fostering a sense of community.
