                         Eagles Landing Outreach dba Gwendolyn Wilkes Rainbow Center Mission 

Eagles Landing Outreach dba the Gwendolyn Wilkes Rainbow Center is a multifaceted nonprofit organization, which reaches out to the community and is inclusive of the whole family unit and age groups. 

Since inception in 1992, it has sought a high standard of excellence in all attempted.  The Center reaches out to the community, serving 20% of the population of Columbus, who are 100% below poverty level, through a free clothing bank and food bank, an Adult Day Treatment Center Respite Care Program, with tender loving care, hot meals, professional staffing, of which 90% participants are from low income families, most efforts are through volunteer service.  The Center provides physical and social activities for the elderly and disabled, tutoring for children, counseling for all ages in collaboration with the Muscogee County School System, and Area Agency on Aging and other local agencies. 

The Center mission is to reach out to the homeless, naked, educate and assist children, counsel youth especially those on drugs and in gangs not limited to the latter!   Hot meals are prepared for those in need, food, clothing, personal needs are donated.  In other words, the Center was established as an outreach to those who are in need.   As a result, the Center has received numerous Community Service awards to include a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition from Congressman Sanford Bishop
