There’s no place like home for the holidays.

And thanks to supporters like you, so many families do have a safe place to call home this holiday season. As we move into this season of giving, we invite you to help deepen our impact and widen our reach to even more families.

Giving Tuesday is December 2, and from now through the end of the year, your gift will help families build stability that lasts into 2026 and beyond.

Because of you, The Drake House has touched over 2,300 lives this year through housing, vital programs, and community referrals. Yet the need in our community continues to grow.

Families are being hit hard by SNAP cuts, rising grocery costs, and a cost of living that simply isn’t keeping up with wages. Moms working full time, or even multiple jobs, are still struggling to stay afloat.

Even though most of the single moms who enter our program are employed, 90% are severely underemployed, working hard but still unable to meet basic needs.

The average hourly income of single mothers entering our program is just $11 per hour. Meanwhile, it takes $42 per hour (or $84,000 annually) to afford a modest two-bedroom apartment in North Fulton.

That’s why our Resident Market remains essential. With 1 in 4 children in Georgia unsure where their next meal will come from, your support keeps shelves stocked with fresh produce, dairy, meat, and household essentials. This gives moms the breathing room to stretch paychecks, save for the future, and move toward long-term stability.

Your generosity also fuels year-round programs, including career coaching, financial literacy classes, afterschool and teen programs, and mental health support.
