History

In 1989, the DeKalb Rape Crisis Center (DRCC) was established to combat the devastating effects of rape and sexual assault by empowering survivors and educating the community. With its dedicated specialists and passionate volunteers, DRCC became a safe place for survivors to find quality support throughout their journey.

In 2013, the DeKalb Rape Crisis center changed its name to Day League. The name celebrates the new beginning that each survivor meets daily through collective support in a safe, nurturing environment. Day League embraces the potential that each day holds for survivors to grow stronger and thrive.

The League

Day League confronts the problem of sexual assault in metro Atlanta by providing care for survivors from initial crisis to lasting recovery. Since 1989, Day League (formerly known as the DeKalb Rape Crisis Center) has taken a holistic approach toward its services to walk with survivors through every step of their journey. These services include a 24-hour crisis intervention hotline, hospital accompaniment, individual counseling, support groups, bilingual care, legal advocacy, prevention, and awareness education. By focusing on full-term trauma recovery, Day League works to ensure that survivors will thrive.
