College Clinic

A nonprofit organization

The mission of College Clinic is to transition students and parents into college and beyond through financial literacy, academic preparedness, and basic life skills. As to date, College Clinic has provided educational and college preparatory workshops to more than 10,000 middle and high school families. Our program objectives provide college access to all ranges of students from top scholars and those needing extra encouragement to continue their education after high school. 

 

College Clinic provides college planning services by mobilizing high school counselors, college representatives, financial advisors, and career advisors to help graduating seniors navigate through the college application process.  Students will be provided will individualized counseling, start planning for their future, and have access to other college resources to get students prepared for their lives after graduation. 

College Clinic has four signature programs:

All programs use our customized curriculum, called the “10 Things You Need to Complete Your College Application” (10 Things). This is a 10-step guide to help students planning for their futures to include the college and career application process.  Students enrolled in the 10 Things workshops receive access to their College Toolkit including documents such as the “10 Things” curriculum, high school transcript, college applications, fee waiver form, and other digital college resources.

10) College Application Submission Process


Students will discover how to:

  • Creating a Plan A, B, C
  • Help students work on strategies to silence the negative self-chatter and build character and confidence
  • Using a combination of paper and electronic calendars for time management practices
  • Begin to enjoy researching and taking action on the tough tasks with just as much enthusiasm as the easy ones
  • Understanding the college application process and why it starts today
  • Saying “yes” to the right place to continue your learning after high school
  • Searching for scholarships and financial aid to pay for your academic dreams
  • Feeling comfortable and confident asking for the things you need that aid to your success


College Clinic by the numbers:

  • More than 10,000 students have received our college-bound workshops
  • November 2017 was our second year celebrating College Application Month, assisting high school students in completing 2,000 college application
  • Every student receives 15-minutes of college coaching
  • Community Partners included Cristo Rey Atlanta Jesuit High School, Gwinnett Schools Math Science and Technology, Cleveland Metropolitan School District, and Cuyahoga Community College
  • Annual National College Signing Day celebration for college decision day with Former First Lady Michelle Obama’s Reach Higher May
