The Coastal Georgia Indicators Coalition is comprised of community members and advocates working together through a comprehensive, coordinated approach for planning and accountability and serves as a resource for agencies addressing overall health and well-being while leveraging resources for community initiatives. The purpose of the Coalition is to improve community well-being by engaging and leading the community to work collectively in its development of strategic priorities that guide policy, programs and resource allocation.
Our priority areas are Economy, Education, Health and Quality of Life.
Serving as the Chatham Family Connection Collaborative, the contributions and commitment from our community partners provided the basis for our community planning endeavors within the Chatham Community Blueprint framework. CGIC has a growing record of initiating public-private partnerships to address some of the most challenging community issues, specifically:
• Community Data Platform development, a robust system to share data across systems in a HIPAA compliant platform,
• Early Care and Learning Initiatives increasing Quality Rated Childcare,
• Racial Equity and Leadership (REAL) Task Force’s Racial Equity Index and Reporting,
• Racial and Ethnic Approaches to Community Health CDC Grant Evaluation Team,
• Resilient Coastal Georgia, a collective impact initiative with over 100 partners who are committed to building a trauma informed and resilient
community, and
• Savannah Police Department’s Behavioral Health Unit, providing a coordinated response with first responders and behavioral health facilities.
