Chess and Community, Inc. is a nonprofit organization empowering youth in Athens, Atlanta, Macon and beyond through chess and other opportunistic, youth enrichment programs.  We cultivate critical thinking, problem-solving, and leadership skills to help young individuals reach their full potential; dedicated to preparing youth to lead through community engagement and civic empowerment, our work uses chess as a learning modality to help youth manage impulsiveness and develop skills that will help them think before they move in life. 

 Our purpose is to prepare youth to lead by focusing on academic enrichment, civic engagement, career and entrepreneurial skills development, and cultural education. Chess and Community, Inc. doesn't just focus on developing and engaging youth, the goal beyond that is to transform the community, while teaching the next generation of innovators, businesswomen, leaders, architects and brilliant minds how to do the same and pay it forward.
