CSAH is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to lead the effort to build and sustain community practices to eliminate homelessness. CSAH works in partnership with nonprofit service providers, government officials, business leaders, and the faith community. 

The Savannah Chatham County Continuum of Care (“CoC”) is the county-wide approach used to address homelessness in Chatham County, Georgia and includes key stakeholder organizations and individuals who collaborate to create and implement an effective system. This system organizes, funds, and provides outreach, engagement, and assessment; emergency shelter; permanent supportive housing (PSH) and other supports including counseling, medical care, dental care and referrals to other needed services. The CoC work emphasizes research-based best practice and includes community awareness and education, prevention strategies for homeless/at-risk of homeless persons, as well as efforts to reduce the overall number of homeless individuals.

Annually in Chatham County, CSAH and CoC partners assist over 4,000 individuals, youth, and families. CSAH works with community leaders to educate the public about why homelessness occurs and advocates for needed change with elected officials, government and business leaders, and the nonprofit sector.
