Established in 2009 and home of the beloved AC Pup, Central Georgia CARES is the non-profit animal welfare organization in Georgia that offers assistance to animals in need and helps people who care for them.  CARES promotes spay/neuter of companion animals, adoption of healthy homeless animals, promotion of humane treatment of animals and humane education of students.  CARES created a Trap, Neuter, Release program to address feral cat colonies in middle Georgia, provides free and low cost vaccine clinics  as well as organized low cost spay/neuter clinics.

CARES has provided more than 50 kennels to unchain dogs that spent their lives tethered to trees allowing them space to run and play.

CARES has helped more than 700 families with pet food, supplies, veterinary medical attention and housing.

CARES efforts have been recognized by appointing AC Pup, Grand Marshall of the Cherry Blossom parade, American Red Cross Hometown Hero, named a Macon icon and painted on the Mercer Bear Macon Icon statue, elected as national TV channel Dog TV mascot, created as a character in the Macon Superhero comic book and invited to participate in Paw Patrol in Macon.

Although we lost AC Pup in February at 13 years old, Central Georgia CARES continues this important work in his memory.  We would be grateful if you would help us honor his memory with a gift to the cause he worked so hard to create.

Thank you.
