$1,000 Goal

Imagine losing your parents, not because of something you did, but because they can’t—or won’t—take care of you. Now, dozens of strangers come into these children’s lives: police, foster parents, therapists, social workers, judges, lawyers, and more. Hopefully, one of these strangers is a CASA volunteer.

CASA, Court Appointed Special Advocates are volunteers who are appointed by judges to watch over and advocate for abused and neglected children to make sure they don’t get lost in the overburdened legal and social service system or languish in an inappropriate group or foster home. They stay with each case until permanency is reached. For many abused children, their CASA volunteer will be the one constant adult presence—the one adult who cares only for them.

Since 1991, CASA of Houston County, Inc. has been a voice for hundreds of children in foster care.  With your support, we'll move closer to reaching our goal of every child having a CASA volunteer advocate.  There are 117 children awaiting a CASA volunteer.  Become a Friend of CASA and help us reach our goal of an advocate for EVERY child.
