Casa De Amistad Inc

Casa de Amistad evolved from the efforts of a concerned group of Athens Clarke residents who rallied together in 2000 when a mobile home court called Garden Springs was being sold. The residents, many of whom were Hispanic and owned the trailers in the park, were faced with relocating in a matter of months.

There was no office originally and the outreach worker visited families in their home and kept in touch by cell phone. The Casa de Amistad office was opened on September 12, 2004. In 2010 Casa de Amistad was granted official 501(c)3 non-profit status. Almost ten years since opening our office, our Executive Director serves over 350 low socio-economic families each year.

Over the years our services have expanded to serve our growing Hispanic community, but our mission remains true to the spirit of our founding.

We address the needs of the under-served Hispanic community through direct service, education, advocacy and community involvement.
