Blankies 4 My Buddies Foundation Inc

Blankies 4 My Buddies’ story begins with Chris “CJ” Matthews’, a 15-year-old change agent whose family experienced a pregnancy loss when he was five. His own grief sparked an idea to create a project to support other kids who might be dealing with similar feelings of sadness. CJ told his mom he never wanted another kid to feel sad and lonely like he did, and Blankies 4 My Buddies was born. The family hosted a blanket drive and collected over 800 blankets to donate to children dealing with traumatic situations, from grief and loss to illness and homelessness. 

Since then, this small project has grown into an organization that brings small tokens of comfort, like cozy blankets, to thousands of children dealing with hard things around the country each year.

CJ is an ambitious young man whose goals include building a social enterprise that will benefit kids in need around the world. His little brother Kollin is standing right by his side. 

Together, the two offer hope and comfort to families across the globe. CJ and Kollin are Giving Tuesday Spark leaders.
