Did you know medical research done with the general population does not always apply to retired military personnel? That’s because military-specific stressors can lead to unique health challenges in Veterans.

That’s where the Foundation for Atlanta Veterans Education and Research* (FAVER) steps in. FAVER is dedicated to transforming the health and well-being of Georgia Veterans by advancing medical research and education at Veterans Affairs Atlanta Health Care System (Atlanta VA).

FAVER partners with the Atlanta VA to provide the highest caliber infrastructure for principal investigators (researchers), annually administers millions in non-VA research funds, and fosters and facilitates unique public/private collaborative efforts between Atlanta VA and academic institutions, government research organizations, and private companies. Additionally, FAVER oversees continuing education and training resources to help maintain a highly skilled and advanced healthcare workforce at Atlanta VA.

FAVER has, on average, administered more than $10 million per year in support of 72 distinct research projects over the past three years, all aimed at addressing specific health concerns of Georgia’s Veterans. Learn more at https://faver.foundation.
