The ACSO is dedicated to connecting and engaging the greater Atlanta community through the transformative power of music, creating service opportunities for our volunteer members. Through collaborations with partners throughout the Atlanta metro area and a commitment to making music accessible through innovative programming and free concerts, the ACSO strives to enrich our community.

Atlanta's oldest community symphony orchestra, the ACSO, was conceived in 1957 under the auspices of the Atlanta Music Club. Originally designed to provide orchestral opportunities to non-professional instrumentalists, the ACSO has transformed into an organization who not only provides a fusion of highest level music, but seeks to give back to the community we live in.

As YOUR community orchestra, the ACSO offers all concerts free of admission fees. This year, we will partner with organizations and programs including Shepherd Center's SHARE program, Lost'n'Found Youth, Midtown High School, and the Roswell Roots Festival. Our Art is Music program designed for elementary-school aged youth provides young listeners the experience of melding art and music that they hear. The Ruth Kern competition engages older young artists the opportunity to play a solo piece with a full symphonic orchestra.

Your donations make this impact:

$20 Helps support soloist fees.

$50 Purchases orchestral parts for a masterworks piece.

$100 Allows for rental of a musical classic.

$200 Provides one Ruth Kern concerto winner a scholarship.

$300 Helps us pay the required fees for ASCAP/BMI certification.

$400 Supports the purchase of new protective covers for our timpani.

$500 Secures a venue for a 2-hour performance
