OUR VISION

"NO MATTER WHAT CONTINENT, COUNTRY, OR CITY I’M IN, THE INFLUENCE OF THE AFRICAN DIASPORA CAN BE FELT.

Atlanta is home to the world’s busiest airport, and a thriving arts community. The city is uniquely poised to be a global destination for African diaspora art and culture in the 21st century and beyond.

Despite Atlanta’s reputation as the “Black mecca”, there exists a void in institutional representation of contemporary Black art and culture. We’ve launched ADAMA as a virtual institution to take advantage of the amazing ways technology can bring us together. This virtual space also allows us to be innovative and experimental in our programming and initiatives  which furthers our mission to advance the impact that museums can have on the communities they serve.

I am excited and inspired by the impact ADAMA can have. In the very near future we look forward to opening a physical space that will be a world class institution dedicated to the display, promotion, and support for an international community of artists.  In the spirit of community, we welcome your input and support as we work to build an institution that not only reflects the best of who we are, but also prepares us to shape the future of who we can become."

- Dr. Fahamu Pecou, Founder of ADAMA

HOW TO SUPPORT ADAMA

African diasporic creative expression is often a collaborative practice that not only engages community, but requires its active input. At ADAMA we embrace our role as a vital part of this exchange. As we build this institution, our vision is to be one of true reflection; reflection of our community’s face, values, and vision. But we need your help.

ADAMA has been proud to present several experiences since launching at the height of the pandemic in 2020. The ADAMA Arts Salons, Midnight Oil, Permanent Project, community film screenings, and the Bridge Residency. Your individual donations, monthly sustaining donations, grants, and support from our volunteers have made all these experiences possible!

We are actively focused on raising money for our operational fund to allow us to continue providing your favorite ADAMA programs as well as introducing some new ones we have dreamed up for 2023. Our ability to continue and expand these programs, as well as to hire staff to support the execution of them are fully dependent on your contributions.

Donate today to help us continue to serve and build this incredible organization. All contributions are tax deductible.
