Founded in 1994 by Cathleen Cronin Dunlap, the Academy Performing Ensemble is a non-profit 501-C organization committed to furthering dance education by providing performance and training opportunities for dancers and the community.
Our Mission is to Support young dancers through education, training, and performance opportunities, scholarships for dancers in need, and professional performances for our community.
Members of the Academy Performing Ensemble are offered master classes, showcases, competitions, conventions, intensives, travel, and the ability to perform in our two annual studio productions, including the beloved Children's Nutcracker.
Our annual production of The Children's Nutcracker is a beloved holiday tradition for the entire family. During the rehearsal process, dancers obtain valuable quick study experience while learning historical ballet repertoire - over 130 years old! They are also able to work closely with professional dancers. Our Cavaliers have performed with major ballet companies, including The Georgia Ballet, Atlanta Ballet, National Ballet of Cuba and even the National tour of CATS! The final product is always an exciting and memorable experience for performers and audiences alike. With your support, we can provide our young artists with vibrant costumes, a professional venue complete with backdrops and set changes, quality props, and professional Cavaliers. We appreciate your help in making our 21st annual production of The Children's Nutcracker the best one yet!
The arts have always had the unique ability to heal a hurting community, nation, and world. Our priority is to put on the highest quality production for our students and our community.
