The Sexual Assault Support Center, formerly known as Columbus Rape Crisis was established in 1981 by a group of community members committed to providing necessary services to sexual assault victims for free. The Center, SASC, services the following counties:Chattahoochee, Harris, Marion, Muscogee, Talbot, and Taylor.
Whether you choose to report the sexual assault to law enforcement or not, you don’t have to go through the process alone. A trained victim’s advocate or volunteer can accompany you and give you support as needed. The SASC can provide a list of services to survivors and their loved ones including: medical advocacy and accompaniment, law enforcement advocacy and support, individal counseling, support group, emergency financial assistance, and more.
The center responds immediately through its 24-hour hotline and can also provide referral to necessary agencies and services during the ongoing advocacy process. These services can help you clarify information and explore the feelings that may surface after the assault or abuse.
Anyone in need of services will not be turned away. Remember: you are not alone.
