Friends of Greenspace,
For over 15 years the Sandy Springs Conservancy has been working hard to make our city a community with more dedicated greenspace and trails. Our goal is to increase the number of parks in our city and develop trails that connect those parks, creating a more livable, bikeable and walkable community.
Make a donation to help us Create, Conserve and Connect future parks and trails that ensure Sandy Springs remains a desireable community where we can all live, work and play.
Here are some of the Conservancy's most recent projects:
- Park at Aria - Another 14 acres of wooded trails will soon be available thanks to the efforts of the Sandy Springs Conservancy, the City of Sandy Springs and the landowners who wanted to ensure greenspace was part of the family's legacy. Learn how the Sandy Springs Conservancy helped preserve the land for the future Park at Aria. www.reporternewspapers.net/2015/09/04/developer-to-preserve-14-acres-as-public-park-at-glenridge-hall-site/
- Abernathy Greenway South - 11 acre park featuring a 1-mile trail along a streambed. With 10 acres on the North, this completes the Greenway, which houses our renowned Playable Art Park.
- City Green - As plans progressed, SSC remained vigilant in its call for adequate greenspace in our new town center. The City Green at the heart of the City Springs will contain 4-acres of green space for events and impromptu picnics. Shaded areas are planned for a quiet game of chess or a good book, or simply a good vantage point to people watch. The Green boasts a number of water features inspired by the springs that give the City of Sandy Springs its name, including gateway entrances and an interactive fountain for kids to play in.
We need your help to continue accomplishing some of our future goals, such as:
-Extend Path400 to connect Sandy Springs to the Beltline
-Connect City Springs to the many trails in Roswell and Cobb
-Work with neighborhoods to design and build pocket parks
