PHYSICIANS' CARE CLINIC
The Oldest and Largest Volunteer-Led Charitable Clinic
Serving DeKalb County
For more than 25 years Physicians’ Care Clinic (PCC) has provided quality, comprehensive medical care for low-income uninsured residents of DeKalb County.  We were founded in 1992 by the DeKalb Medical Society as an outreach initiative, and today we operate as independent 501c3 nonprofit organization.

PCC offers non-emergency, primary health care and chronic disease management services to adults who are 18 years and older and who live at or below 200% of the federal poverty level.  Our patients are uninsured, and do not qualify for Medicaid or Medicare.   PCC offers access to medical care, providing a health safety-net and medical home.

Clinic services include access to physicians, diagnostic testing (laboratory and imaging), pharmaceuticals, and referrals to medical specialists who work in partnership with PCC.  We also provide health management supplies and patient health education, both one-on-one during appointments and in classroom settings.  All services are offered at no charge to PCC patients, including specialty care.

PCC has a small staff and is overseen by a committed Board of Directors who are passionate about the mission and actively volunteer on a regular basis.  Clinical services are delivered by volunteer physicians, nurses, pharmacists, laboratory technicians, and other medical professionals and lay people – more than 265 strong.  Last year, clinic volunteers committed over 3,500 hours to serve patients in need.

PCC is the recipient of numerous awards from the Georgia Hospital Association, Medical Association of Georgia, Georgia House of Representatives, and the DeKalb County Board of Commissioners.

The clinic’s original partners (DeKalb Medical, now known as Emory Decatur Hospital and Emory Hillandale Hospital, and the DeKalb County Board of Health) continue to support PCC with annual in-kind donations.

Our administrative office is open full-time four days each week, and the clinic in the T.O. Vinson Health Center on Winn Way is open for patient appointments every week.  All patient appointments are scheduled in advance.
