PEBBLE TOSSERS... start a ripple of giving
“Just as ripples spread out when a single pebble is dropped into water, the actions of individuals can have far-reaching effects.” ~ Dalai Lama
Who We Are:
Pebble Tossers is a youth development organization dedicated to enriching and empowering the lives of young people through community service and leadership roles. Pebble Tossers offers a volunteer resource designed to match kids, teens and families with age-appropriate service opportunities. Today’s youth face many challenges and studies show volunteerism promotes a healthy lifestyle, discourages negative choices, enhances development and teaches needed life skills. Participation through Pebble Tossers also allows young people to create a civic transcript of their volunteer history to encourage an ongoing service ethic.
Founded in 2008, the organization has over 16,000 volunteers serving 120 local non-profits focused on 12 important cause areas. Since its inception, the community impact of these volunteer efforts is valued at more than $1.3 million.
Pebble Tossers main funding comes from contributions from generous individuals like you!
What We Do:
By hosting monthly hand-on community service projects, Pebble Tossers exposes kids, teens and families to new organizations and causes. Our easy to navigate website lists urgent needs in the community and features information regarding timely or seasonal needs. Members can keep track of all planned and recorded service hours in our online Civic Transcript which is useful for schools, college applications, and civic or faith-based organization requirements.
Pebble Tossers also offers a Volunteer Foundation Program which consists of youth development workshops including helpful Volunteer 101 classes, our teenWAVE (Work, Advocate, Volunteer, Educate), and GIVE (Grow, Inspire, Volunteer, Engage) programs.
When children and teens serve as volunteers, everyone benefits. Service projects can make a huge difference in the lives of young people. Toss a pebble into the water and allow its impact to start a ripple effect of giving in your community.
