The test of a civilization is the way it cares for its helpless members.
~ Pearl Buck
Of the 33,209 people who came to MUST Ministries for help this past year, 68% were children.
Most of these children came to us with critical needs for food, clothing and shelter. Parents needed employment.
This past year, MUST Ministries served 70,436 meals. Our food pantries distributed 524,194 pounds of food. We provided 83,796 safe nights of rest.
Yet about 225 homeless women and children were turned away each month from our emergency shelter – for lack of room.
And these aren’t faceless folks in faraway places. These are your neighbors -- in Cobb, Cherokee, Paulding, Pickens, Bartow, Douglas, North Fulton and Gwinnett counties.
On Giving Tuesday, you can make a real difference for your neighbors in need. We are asking our supporters to give during two Work for Good Power Hours: 7-8 am Breakfast and 5-6 pm Dinner. This qualifies us to receive bonus prizes from corporate sponsors.
Some practical ways your donation can make a difference:
$30 - Can purchase 2 blankets or 2 weeks of Summer Lunch
$65 - Can purchase 2 warm coats or 3 pairs of shoes
$100 - Can purchase groceries for a family of 3 for a week
$100 - Will feed a child for the entire summer (10 weeks)
$100 - Will feed a family of 4 for a week from our food pantry
$250 - Will purchase approximately 100 hot meals at the Loaves and Fishes Kitchen
$500 - Will provide 24 families a holiday dinner to take home, including a 5 lb turkey
$1000 - Will provide steel-toe boots to 25 clients who are ready to begin work in a warehouse or at a construction site

Want to get hands-on as well?
If you also would like a hands-on way to help at-risk children, your group can get involved with our Christmas Toy Shop, which helped 4,148 kids have a happy Christmas last year.
Our Toy Shop needs your help! It runs the first three weeks of December in Cobb and Cherokee county locations.
About MUST Ministries
Your group can brighten the holidays for these children by holding a drive for clothing, toys or gift cards. Your team also can volunteer to serve as “elves” in the Toy Shop itself.
