We need your support to carry out our mission. Your donation brings life to the following in our ministry:

In 2017, we saw nearly 14,500 patient encounters. In 2018, we are trending toward 18,000 patient encounters. The need for affordable, quality healthcare in our area is very large. We charge our uninsured patients a sliding fee scale, based on their ability to pay. More than 70% of our patients have an income below the federal poverty line.

Our uninsured patients pay anywhere from $30 - $60 on our sliding fee scale to be seen by their primary care provider. We believe this exchange works well because it establishes a professional relationship with patients.
We are honored that so many trust us as their Primary Care Provider.

Primary Care is the heart of our medical mission. Dr. Scarborough has recruited a staff of three doctors, two Physician Assistants, one Nurse Practitioner, and a support staff dedicated to caring for the health of our patients. Each day we work to carry out our mission, and by doing so we reduce the barriers of access to care for thousands.

Specialty Care is growing at MercyMed. Because of the difficulty in acccessing the needed services, we have many volunteer Doctors practicing medicine here for the uninsured. Dentistry, Cardiology, Orthopedics, Gynecology, Ultrasound Imaging, Dermatology, Counseling, and Vision services are now available at our Health Care Center.

Last fall we launched a School Based Health Center at Fox Elementary School in Columbus, GA. We provide urgent care services to the students and staff at this GA Title I School. Fox Elementary School experiences a high rate of absences, and many are due to untreated illness. Our goal is simple: We want to help Fox Elementary School reduce absences due to illness. We believe students perform better when they show up for class healthy and ready to learn. The School Based Health Center at Fox is improving access to health care for underserved children. By bringing the Doctor's office to the school, students avoid health related absences, and get support to succeed in the classroom.
