About the GEC - In 1990, a small group of citizens came together to create a vision for Glynn County leading to the creation of the Glynn Environmental Coalition ( GEC). The area's industrial legacy had created choking air pollution, polluted waters, and polluted land posing threats to our community and our fragile estuaries, marshes, and beaches. To address these problems, GEC's initial cleanups and educational programs quickly expanded to include technical assistance and advocacy to clean up our community's 4 Superfund Sites.
