Mission & Vision
The Fuller Center for Housing of Macon, Georgia, is a faith-driven and Christ-centered organization that works to repair, renovate, and build safe and affordable housing for people in need on terms they can afford using volunteers and donated materials whenever possible. Our vision is that all homeowners in Macon and Central Georgia will live in safe and affordable houses.
The Fuller Center for Housing of Macon, Georgia, (Fuller Center Macon) works in collaboration with churches, individuals, corporations, other service-oriented organizations, and countless volunteers to repair, renovate and build houses for low income families who are unable to secure adequate housing by conventional means. We are committed to good stewardship, keeping administrative costs low, and working closely with selected families.
The Fuller Center provides a “hand-up,” not a “hand-out.” Houses that are repaired and renovated are affordable for very low-income families because they are sold to the family with no interest assessed and families participate in the renovation of the house, earning “sweat equity.” This approach turns the recipient into a donor as repayments are recycled and used to repair the next house for a family. Studies show that when families own their own homes that are safe, adequate, and affordable, children’s grades improve and neighborhood crime rates go down significantly.
The Fuller Center Macon wants to work in the worst of the worst areas to transform neighborhoods, one house at a time. Give today.
