Community Farmers Markets operates the East Atlanta Village, Grant Park, Decatur, Fresh MARTA Markets, and Ponce City, offers educational outreach programs in those neighborhood communities, and raises funds to double the value of SNAP spent at markets.
Our mission to increase food access has three components:
We make it simple to find fresh and local food by managing six farmers markets in the Atlanta area. With locations spread throughout the city, local farmers are able to easily bring their vegetables, fruits, meats, and other goods to a wide and diverse audience.
We believe in change through the power of education. Whether it’s visiting local schools and afterschool organizations to lead nutrition-based cooking lessons or working with farmers and small-business owners to grow their businesses, education is integral in creating a fair and robust local food system.
We help to make fresh and local food affordable by doubling SNAP benefits at our markets, putting more money into both the hands of Atlanta shoppers and local farmers.
Each contribution, no matter how small, makes a great impact in our mission. Thank you for supporting your local food movement, local farmers, and your community!
